  1. Hi Guys n Gals - I am not clever enough to create a nice link so that you can view this listing from here, but if anyone would be good enough to offer a view on this Bevel I would be grateful.

The guy must have spent a fortune ( medium sized ) on the engine work alone !!

Ducati 900 Bevel Twin Pantah 600SL Cagiva Alazzurra/Pantah
    ( 111800791645 )

    cheers dp

  2. That's a lot of money for a Darmah, engine work or not. But SS's are crazy money so might be worth a punt if you are not bothered about originality

  3. Cheers ducv2 - £11,000 is for three bikes, he wants around £6,000 for the bevel, is that about right ??

  4. Yes I saw it was for all three bikes, I would start at low 5. You can always go up with your offer:upyeah:

  5. Thanks for the guidance - there is a fair bit to do to get it anything like tidy. I am going down to view on Friday, will keep you posted !!

  6. Is the idea to return them to pristine stock condition? You sort of get the idea that they would require many (expensive) parts. @Pete1950 is somewhat the expert on Pantah restoration. He is currently doing a couple.

  7. ... or even three. Yes, many expensive, hard to find parts and a good deal of work. Each of these bikes looks like the start of a project, not the end of one, and the price(s) should reflect this.

  8. Cheers Guys, I quite like the idea of blatting around on a big noisy bevel rat bike, plenty of miles and not too much polishing. The engine work that this one has had should ensure trouble and expense free motoring and ally tanks are soooo cool ! It is a runner so cant be too far from an MOT. I have a breathed-upon BMW R1200 gs, which is such a brilliant bike - but just that bit bland. Not interested in the other two bikes.

  9. All the pantah stuff is desirable with cafe/TT replicas being built by everyone and his brother. In winter incomplete resto projects seem to fetch as much as runners as shed dwellers look for bikes to work on. You could end up with a cheap bevel with a bit of wheeling and dealing.
That bundles worth £7k all day long if you can get it for less its a great deal imho

  10. But the bundle is £11K, Keith. £7K would be worth it for the bevel, provided the story about the engine rebuild is true.

  11. Hi Pete1950 sounds like you rate the bevel as worth £7k if the engine work is genuine ? Have I got that right ?? Cheers dave55

  12. I do not claim to be an expert on the current value of 70's bevel project bikes. But for what it's worth, yes I would be prepared to pay £7K for the one advertised if I wanted one - if the story is true.

  13. Yep just re read the listing. I guess 11k is not far off seeing as all 3 bikes run.

  14. Cheers Guys, now going down to view on Sunday, will keep you posted

  15. Re-reading the blurb, I notice that there is no suggestion any of the three bikes has a V5, or is legal, or has its registration number in order. It can be quite a palaver to sort this stuff out.

  16. "Run"?
The Pantah is said to need: "Battery. Belts. Carbs balancing. Fairing brackets/stays. The seat and rear light need to be finished including fixings, or changed for something else? Fairing, seat, front guard and tank all need paint. The brakes need fluid and pads. A dash panel to tidy up the cock pit."
Doesn't sound like a bike that runs, to me. Sounds like a project I would give £1K for.

  17. Probably fetch a good 2k listed seperately, the alloy tank's worth a few hundred if in good nick. A running motor reduces the gamble of buying a dud.

  18. I am assured that the 900 Bevel has a V5, I will be having a good look at the frame and engine numbers !

The Vert cylinder has what looks like an electronic pick-up on it's RHS top end. I cant see same on any of the photos of Darmahs or S2's on the Bevel Heaven - any ideas Chaps ?

  19. No its not STD

    Lockheed Brake Conversion

Might be what your looking at.....ps...ignore that the link states Lockheed Brakes

  20. Cheers Q, the advert says it has Lucas Rita ignition fitted !!
