Another day another question. I've heard very bad things about the headlight on the bike(better light out of a torch from poundstretcher), and stumbled across this fairing. I very much like the look of it, but have no idea on lights, what would fit and which to go with. Has anyone successfully performed this face-lift? I'm holding off on buying it as of now.... Also interested to know about this. Much weight to be lost over the nose, methinks. Fairing, frame, lights, clocks....5kg saving possible maybe?
I don't think 999 projectors will fit as the holes look different sizes. I'm guessing a subframe with lamp mounts would have to be fabricated. I would contact fairing supplier and ask what they recomend. 999 headlamp shell and lights are not cheap and quite heavy and the speedo console fits into it as a unit so if it does fit there's a bit of messing about involved.
we happen to have a spare 999 unit in the garage - (Matt's my son, mines the 999). It's a hulking great thing mind so probably too much effort. Methinks find some separate spots that fit and knock up a frame to mount - keep the clocks and all as standard. Either that or mate a 999 top fairing to 900 lowers .....
