This is an old post but to bring things up to date ...... I'm currently going for this in-tank fuel pump for my 1994 900ss, for a carbed bike you need a low pressure pump which narrows the choice down a bit, (most pumps are higher pressure and are suitable only for injection engines). This Sytec pump cost about £40 inc'. Specs are shown in second photo (as you can see it's only 5.5 psi, whereas pump for injected bikes would be more like 35-40psi) Pete
When replacing, remember to check connections, if the terminals are connected the wrong way round, pump runs, but backwards! Ahem! A friend told me...
Could be a good way of reducing fuel consumption I suppose! But I agree it's an easy mistake to make .... you have to look closely but the pos and neg terminals are marked although not very clearly.
