900SS piston ring compatibility

  1. I'm looking to replace the piston rings on my 92, 900SS. Are 1998+ 900SS rings compatible with 91-97 bike pistons or do I need to specify 91-97 rings (earlier ones are hard to get hold of I think)?

  2. Might be easier and possibly cheaper to replace the pistons

  4. You can get them from Stein Dinse in Germany,but not cheap!

  6. my last pair were around £60 a pair from Germany - how much are they via a dealer these days?

  7. Don't remember the exact price but a set of piston rings for a 916 (like 900SS, only 94mm bore) cost me around £150 from a Ducati dealer - that's for one piston only.

    A set of high-comp JE pistons complete with rings for 900SS costs about the same (or less) than just the rings from Ducati...
