916 Clutch Slave Cylinder

Discussion in 'Wanted' started by Mattt, Aug 23, 2020.

  1. After a 916 clutch slave
After reading up on here a 749 one will also fit ,and lighten the lever action slightly I haven’t took it off to measure the pin length yet though

  2. Look on EBay for an Oberon slave cylinder, lighter feel on the clutch and better seal arrangement.
    About £95 delivered.
Fitted one recently and well pleased.

  3. I did see these ,but as I'm selling it,and everyone seems to go on about everything being stock I was thinking a aftermarket slave would be just another thing to put people off ?
How much does the lighter lever affect the travel ,I must admit it is heavy stuck in traffic yesterday for 20 minutes

  4. If it’s the original slave, you can get a new seal for it. If you use a 749 cylinder, you’ll need the longer pushrod to match.

  5. I doubt whether a new buyer would even look at the clutch slave, you can colour coordinate the Oberon.
And always give the old slave with the bike.
New seals are usually a short term fix, as there could be damage to the cylinder bore.
