I’m looking for contact details for a company I was told did high quality finishing called “REALITY MOTORCYCLES”, Bristol area I think - they seem to have disappeared from the web! Anyone used them or recommendations for magnesium wheel refurb as well as the usual frame and other parts?? I’m in South Wales area Cheers Alan
I can highly recommend Steve Turner of Turner Powder Coating Services (http://tpcs-magnesium-refurbs.co.uk/). He is well known on here and is a magnesium alloy specialist. Andy
i have used PPS a lot in the past. Brill. Looking for quality powder coating in South Wales? Call PPS Powder Coating Ltd in Hirwaun on 01685 810 066 or 07909 222 510
dont know about mag wheels but reality motor works or grifs reality motor works in bristol, (think this is who you are after) are top notch.. had a heap of powder coating , polishing and plating done there.. its been a few years since i last dealt with them but Nic was the man in charge and he's a top bloke, proper petrol head and if he cant do something he usually knows some one who can help you out.. great painter on the same estate as well, TJC design... they done the paint on my 748 , top job and a great price.
Cheers mun, pretty sure that's the one I had recommended. As well as wheels I am looking to get the engine casings plated and that finish is pretty specific - Did you have that done on yours?
no, i wish i did! i got my engine cases painted elsewhere and they didnt do a great job at all.. reality did the powder coating of my 748 frame and a load of bits, polishing of pipes (which came out amazing) Nic also powder coated my brake calipers and masters then rebuilt em with new seals and stainless bolts and re-plated pins/clips.. he also helped with my ohlins damper, he sent it to his mate at ohlins uk who disassembled it, sent it back to Nic who anodised the gold bits bits black and got the body painted white then sent it back to his mate for re-assembly, and he charged not a great deal for that at all.. top bloke
Tech coat....cerakoters in a small village called Rooksbridge (on the outskirts of Bristol). Given him loads of my business. Hes a one man band and as such is available pretty well any time...ie you can drop stuff off in the evenings, weekends etc etc which is brilliant for me personally as i work a 5/6 day week.... Otherwise i use a place in St Philips http://www.bristolmotorcyclepowdercoating.co.uk/ When he did my supermoto he did the frame and swing arm in a 2 pack....weatherproof undercoat and then the black on top...5 years later it still looks like new...
I’m probably ok for the frame locally but had seen some cerakote jobs on engine cases and liked the look of that as opposed to paint or coating- have you any experience with engine parts being cerkoted?
