916 Sprocket Carrier

Discussion in 'Technical Help' started by Gordon McMillan, May 16, 2020.

  1. Hi guys, I'm fitting new cush drive rubbers, and my old ones had a large washer sitting on top of them, see pic.
Any ideas what this washer is for and is it required , I think it's a talon carrier but has no Mark's, im concerned that it brings the carrier closer to the hub an rubs, as it is already very close, cheers 15896289618146341995995694678280.jpg

  2. Gordon, watch out with the sprocket flange. The older ones had a longer stem going past the level of the steel spacer. Just saying as it might interfere with the sprocket carrier.

  3. Thanks, this is what I'm concerned about, I have mounted it all without the washers and will keep a close eye on it,cheers

  4. There’s a rogue memory in my head that makes me think, when the copies of the original Renthal units showed up, they went in to sort the chain line out so the same carrier could be used for 520 and 525 chain.
It was a long time ago though....
