'94 & 750ss Valve Clearances

Discussion in 'Supersport (1974-2007)' started by CAT3, May 21, 2017.

  1. Got a '94 750SS, (which I'm just servicing) & was wondering if those of you who do your own shim changes, do you remove the battery tray to get good access to the rear cylinder inlet valve or do you check/adjust them with it in situ ?

  2. It can be done it situ, however its easier without battery tray. I have done both ways and kinda swerve towards removing battery and the tray rubber only cause taking the tray out is a pita

  3. Thanks for that Desmoquattro, I sort of figured that would be the case. It's a pity the battery tray & air box base are one unit, if they were separate it would be so much easier & you'd only have to remove the battery tray ! Never mind !
