Hi there, Currently own a 93' Duc 900SS. Considering a 99' ST4 from original owner, complete detailed servise records for $3k. Seems like a good value, my questions are: Can a reasonably handy owner do his own maintenance? If so are there special tools required? Are there some red flags to look for? Thank you,
Sounds good value if not too many miles and in good nick. As iirc, its basically a 916 motor, the thing to worry about is the chromed rockers, which were prone to flaking. They can be upgraded though and may have been already. Belts are a little more complicated to replace than the 2 valve but perfectly doable.
