Hello, just a quickie. Just got back from a short ride and noticed this small hose hanging out from behind the fairing. Any immediate/obvious idea before I go taking things apart...?! I'm thinking possible Fuel overflow hose or something similar.? (No obvious smell apparent though...) Thank you folks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Looks like a breather, normally they come out the bottom of the fairing where they meet in the middle.
Excellent - thank you both! I'm guessing (hoping) not much taking apart...? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Fairing can be removed by simply removing the dzus fasteners. To get to the y piece - lift seat, undo single Allen bolt at back of tank and slightly raise the tank (small block of wood useful to hold it in raised position). Then reconnect hose to y piece and route hose. Done. 15 minute job.
You may find the hose is not routed properly hence why it has come loose or you are missing the clip at the bottom of the photo or it has just popped out. It shouldn't come out as yours has done.
Thanks, Red998. I'm guessing the easiest thing would be to correctly reroute it and then reattach, rather than the other way around. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Personally I would take the tank and side panel\s off and reroute it joining it correctly back to the Y piece that is in the fuel pump base plate area. That way you will know the job is done and should not have to do it again. Leave enough slack to be able to lift the tank up for when it next needs to be removed next, as it will lift up more easily. Check for pipe kinks just in case you starve the fuel tank of air. The pipes do degrade with age so if the pipe is very soft and spongy, which may be a reason why it came out, then replace it
All done, you were right - dead easy job. Thank you all for your help Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
