996 Brembo / Marchesini Wheels

  1. Hi all - have purchased a set of Brembo/Marchesini type wheels and was told they fit strainght onto a 996. However the wheel centreing spacer off the old 3 spoke wheel seems too big for the new 6 spoke Marchesini. Whne fitted the spacer is not flush without of wheel centre , meaning the nut will not go all the way on. Is there a different wheel centreing spacer ??

  2. What bike are the ' new' wheels off ?

  3. Do you have a photo of the 6 spoke wheel and spacer?

    Edit : 5 spoke.

  5. That looks fine to me.
I used to have 5 spoke (I assume yours are 5) Marchesinis on my 748 and 916 and the spacer protruded like that. Never was a problem in many years of riding.

Have you tried installing the nut - it ought to fit.

  6. I have Marchesini 10 spoke wheels on my 916 and the spacer suits like that, about 6-7mm protruding, I think it's just how they make them.

As long as the spindle size is right, the locating lugs line up and the nut tightens OK, you should be good to go

  7. Thanks everyone - too much powdercoat and some cleaning of the "lug" holes, made it sit just a few mm closer the hub - rear nut fits perfectly following your advice - many thanks
