Hi guys! Hope it's the right thread to post this one! I have a problem with my clutch.Today i went for a ride and i lost one of my clutch springs while riding!I rode over it but didn't notice that it was actually the spring that fell out. However the bike felt strange, shifting was hard and when put her in first gear with the clutch lever pulled in it acted like the lever wasn't pulled in and if didn't pull on the throttle it stalled! My question is that, did i cose any internal problem inside the cluth or if i put a new spring in that will solve my problem?Do i need to replace all of the springs or putting one in is enough?Shall i take her to a service and get her fixed there? Thanks, Peter
Problem with just loosing the one spring is that the pressure plate will now release off centre, not squarely... This will put pressure on the pushrod, and probably cause clutch drag. That would explain the poor shifting quality. If you remove the opposite spring then that should square the pressure plate up on release and will at least prove whether it's that causing the problem. Springs, caps, screws aren't expensive so replacing the missing one won't break the bank.
