998/999rs Gear Position Sensor

  1. I’m about to start fitting one of these to my bike and was wondering if anybody else with an rs dash or fancy aftermarket one has done this before.
Got a load of useful info from the 998RS workshop manual about setting it up and have been able to source nearly all the parts (not easy)...

Think i’ve got it sorted but still can’t work out which part of the gear drum the sensor touches to give the various values. Must be eccentric but can’t work it out from the photos on google. Maybe someone with a spare gear drum kicking about could help? Just after a bit of expert help if poss.

    Cheers, Ian

  2. Hi ian, they are like gold dust, try Tom Irvine ad Fuel Race Parts

  3. Thanks mate. Tom had one for sale a few weeks back for £600 but missed out.
The sensor alone was £1800 from Ducati but no longer available. The alloy housing is about £300.
I’ve managed to source all the bits now from abroad for a fraction of the price. Waiting for them to arrive hopefully next week but still am curious to find out which part of the drum it touches.

  5. To close this off for the time being, miles easier, cheaper and reliable to fit a Diavel gear drum and panigale position sensor!
