  1. Hi all, i want to change the locking nuts on the belt tensioning pulleys on my 999.

Can anyone tell me the correct name for them, and anywhere on the tinternet that might sell them please?

    thanks :upyeah:

  2. It does beg the question as to why you want to change them? Any ducati dealer, official or indie, will be able to look up the part nuymber and supply.

  3. Hi cranker,

They appear to have the similar properties as a nylon locking nut. I assumed its best to change them after a belt change?

  4. Hmm,

never changed them on the 600ss, 620 monst, 853 or 748. The 999/749 variety could be different though as I have never played with one.

  5. They are not nylock rather a metal locking system similar to those on the cam pullies, best obtained from a dealer.

  6. No need to change the tensioning pullies as a rule, only if a bearing goes in which case I believe it can be replaced. The locknut should be off the shelf at very little cost from any decent main dealer and don't forget to replace the washer under the nut at the same time. Many people favour a small drop of loctite to help retain the nut.

  7. I'd always had you down as a "Pink" man Steve

  8. Aye, Póg mo thóin. Although it is technically kissing the brown.

Don't forget the can of petrol, as well!

  9. I believe AC/DC had a song entitled Sink the Pink

  10. They are known as "Fuji" nuts. Aerotite used in the aircraft industry will do as suitable replacements but you can get them from a Ducati dealer.
