Hi, as the title says my 999 clutch is not behaving.if I ride with quick gear changes it's fine. Once I stop and pull the lever in whilst in gear, I lose pressure and the bike creeps forward and I can't select neutral or stop it without stalling (holding the brake )or killing the engine. I've fitted a new slave cylinder but it's still the same. Could it be the master cylinder? If so can you get a repair kit or do I need to replace the whole unit?
Are you sure there's no air in system? there's a bleed nipple in the master cyl reservoir on those I think. Brembo don't supply repair kits but I read you can get spares from KTM dealers. If you're losing pressure while lever is in and its not air getting compressed you have a leak somewhere which should be visible.
Can't see a leak and the fluid level is not dropping.will try bleeding again and also buy newer fluid. Thanks for the reply.
Could be the pressure plate bearing seized which spins up the push rod and in turn the piston in the slave which cooks the fluid. Mine was recently letting a little bit of air in at the seal where the reservoir connects to the M/C. I just took it off, cleaned the seal and put a touch of red rubber grease on the seal which fixed it
Thanks for all the advice it's sorted at last. held the slave cylinder piston in with a clamp. Removed the clutch handlebar lever and forced the piston back with a drift held it in and opened the bleed valve in the reservoir sorted.
