999 Sprag Clutch

Discussion in 'Technical Help' started by Bluehawk, Nov 3, 2014.

  1. Just a question about how long this would take to do by a competent mechanic...?

99% sure this needs done, but no rush as the season is over..

Also, anything else worth doing while its stripped?

    Cheers

  2. 2-3hrs taking it easy. Check faces where clutch engages and fit a lighter flywheel.

Ensure the shim doesn't fall off behind the needle bearing on re-assembly

  3. Also change the oil and coolant, if needed.

  4. Speaking from miserable experience, I'd be changing the starter cogs while the patient is open!

  5. 2nd the starter ring
I changed mine on my first 1098.
