What screw thingy? The TPS can be reset with an Android phone, all you need to remove is the LH side fairing to get access to the diagnostic port. A 3-pin Fiat/Lancia diagnostic cable and OBD2 BT dongle are required.
You need to back a screw out on the throttle bodies to reset I thought to get it back to 0 then reset to 2.3(?) Then screw it in to 4.6(?) Then reset back to 2.3(?) again. Or is that incorrect?
OK, that brings me on too "I then finished the set up by resetting the idle speed, running balance, idle mixture and went for a ride.". How do you reset the idle speed? Can it be increased?
that screw will adjust the idle speed but if you say increase the idle speed you are rotating the start point of the throttle body ( the bit the Tps connects to) on the fuel map settings so you may be at idle but with the fuelling for say .2 of a throttle opening and of course that error goes all the way up to full throttle. That why you would then reset the TPS so the fuel map get linearised back across the rev range according to throttle position. 1 balance throttle flaps for opening ( i use various size drills to measure the equal opening) set tps. Its interesting how out of sync these can be at idle once you set them equal at say 1/2 throttle opening. 2 balance idle speed using that screw and the air bleed screws 3 reset TPS
oh and while you are in there i would get rid of the plastic ball joint connectors and rose joint it, eliminates all that play when worn...here is one of the 1198s ive done..
What am I doing wrong here, JPDiag is connected but with ignition on I have no reset TPS option or service reset. Or if it randomly comes on its greyed out.
yes and no... yes it is but i didn't use it. On the fitment on my hybrid i also use a second plate that mounts on the airbox mounts to mount the injectors on so i actually use two.. its stiffer than the std set up but lighter and fits my needs.
