999s 1098 Or 1098s

  1. So I've been looking around at what is available
And in my budget are some 999s mono's
A couple of base 1098, or some 1098s with more than 25k miles.
which would be the better option?

  2. Well the 999 is a very different bike from the 1098 so if that floats your boat that’s probably your best option. For me it was always the 1098 and it’s worth finding the extra for the S imo, Happy hunting!

  3. I have owned an 1198S and it was a cracking bike, but not a keeper. I have owned a monoposto 999 since 2005 and that is my keeper. With the suspension set up correctly it is superb. The only issue now is that you are buying into a 18 yr (oldest) or 14 yr (youngest) bike. Over the years I have hoarded ECUs, Speedos and wiring looms in anticipation of elderly electronics letting go. My one regret is that I did not buy a 999R for £7.5K when I had the chance in 2012, I bought the 1198S instead.
