A 93 750 Returned To Me

  1. Good day all.
28 years after I bought my first beautiful 1993 750 super sport from Munroe motors in San Francisco, I finally found a twin bike. My goal is to restore it back to factory condition. Look forward to learning from everyone.

I could use some info on replacing the swing arm if anybody has any details.

  4. Welcome.
By “replace” I will take it you are asking about removing it, not about where to get a custom swingarm from (about which I have no info) .
It’s straightforward once you get the bike supported securely not using any of the bits you will remove. Some use a sling to suspend the bike from, or a pole through the rear frame triangle, or drop the headers and chock under the sump.
I would advise easiest to go this route (from memory, sorry if
    I missed something) -
Spray plenty of penetrating oil along the swingarm pivot (under the rubber bungs) and allow to soak (normally fine unlike SSSA bikes like a 996)
    Exhausts off
    Footrests off
Rear m/cyl released along with reservior and stays with swingarm
    Lower shock bolt removed
Remove internal circlips from the swingarm mounting bosses (using a small screwdriver or pick under the rubber bungs)
    Swingarm clamps slackened off fully
Get a suitably sized soft drift (wooden pole, nylon or soft metal drift?) and drift the swingarm pivot out (though most just push out with finger pressure if the bike didn’t live outside over winters)
Move the swingarm closer to the bike, remove the front sprocket cover, remove front sprocket to free the chain which stays with the swingarm.
Get a cup of tea (mandatory)
