Abs On Or Off?

Discussion in 'Technical Help' started by Skye Hook, Apr 26, 2019.

  1. Bit of a weird one, i have noticed that i can lock up my rear wheel easily enough, and there is no assistance from the ABS at all,it just locks up.
dealership suggested that the ABS may be switched off,BUT the yellow light is on at start up and goes out once under way,as usual.
tried to go through the menu to switch the ABS on or off and i dont seem to have the same menu set up as i was shown online, where the main menu gives you a ABS setting to click on and change,i dont have that at all, just ABS numbers in the set up pages. So i cannot find a way to turn it on or off, which just adds to the mystery. I have an ABS unit and the light works but no sign of it kicking in when it should, dont want to try it on the front brake yet though.any clues?

  2. what bike?

  3. If its a multistrada, you've been had. Must be a Chinese copy, as no real Italian Ducati Multistrada ever had a working rear brake ;)

Mine used to lock up no problem too. And ABS was fine

  4. good point,must be a wrong un.
anyways,i press onwards, and set up with a brand IMG_1498.JPG new set of OZ wheels and Supercorsas, all seems to be well with the World today, who needs ABS anyways?

  5. here's one for her better side after a good clean, filthy dirty little thing that she is ;) that rear wheel nut is a twat isn't it? and nice to find IMG_1500.JPG the silencer clip bolt seized solid,Italians dont like salty Scottish Islands apparently.just back from the first run out with the new wheels, rubber and brakes,it is quite amazing the difference it all makes to the basic Bike, quicker, lighter, more focused and smoother all round,a win.

  6. ABS is switchable in the menu system.
    Lovely wheels how much?

  7. thats my point PeterT,it aint switchable in MY menu system, and i dont know why,i shall take some pics tomorrow to show what i mean

  8. as for the wheels, thereby hangs a tale.
Winter before last i hit a very deep pothole at a rate of knots here on skye, subsequent inspection and cleaning of underwear revealed TWO buckled rims! one front possible fix and the rear torn and cracked, not repairable.
    underwear washed..,.
a claim with the Council ensued,i realised that it was actually cheaper to buy OZ wheels at £1700 the pair than a new set of shitebuckle Ducati wheels,so went and did so,not really expecting to get my claim taken seriously..
turns out the guy at the council is a fellow biker and knows how it is
so new gold wheels replace old heavy black wheels...and i am not complaining.
