Abs

  1. How do you tell if a bike has ABS?

Is brake bleeding/fluid change any different on a ABS bike?

  2. Look at the inside of the disc rota - toward the axel, and if you see a spindle that looks like a 'railway track' it probably has ABS

No difference in bleeding the fluid

  3. Awesome, a sensible answer, thx.

  4. Trace the fluid line(s) coming out of the master cylinder. If they go directly down to the front calipers, no ABS. Looking for a toothed rotor on the wheel won't confirm it; bikes like RSV4s have had a rotor front and back since 2011 for the aPRC electronics, but ABS was added only recently.

Bleeding is the same as on a non-ABS bike but more difficult since the pipe runs are longer. There is a post on elsewhere on here about how hard it is to bleed the brakes on a Multistrada with ABS, and a potential solution.
