Having the SF848 properly done over by allyearbiker on Sunday, it needs the grime properly removed and could use a proper ACF50 hand job. Looking closely at the bike, there are some signs the bolts could start getting furry and the odd winter dash about in salt and ice can't have helped. I'll post some pics, also getting another one of the bikes done (it's new and hoping this will keep it smart).
Used ACF50 for a few years now and it seems to do the trick, but aren't you shutting the ol' stable door a bit late in the year?
Just washed the Blackbird after 4 months of riding through the rain and snow. All shiny and looking showroom A1. Great stuff is ACF50
I don't use the Ducati's in the winter weather, but I do use my Vespa GTS300 for commuting. It's had a liberal coating of ACF50 applied form new and topped up a few times. There is no sign of corrosion. And that's some endorsement on a steel bodied Italian scooter .
definitely slows down corrosion of fixings etc if bike used through winter. A couple of things - apart from avoiding brakes/discs (which i'm sure everyone is aware) it will also make various plastics/rubbers go 'gooey' if saturated. Also if you buy the kit with the pneumatic pump-up sprayer, these tend to fail within a year in my experience (resorted to paint brush last year).
I've had ACF50 on since new but this now needs reapplying. I'm not ding it myself, I have www.allyearbiker.co.uk doing a session at my house for a few bikes. See their site, they do a good job of treating the bike to a proper spring clean and I'll get it reapplied before next winter.
