Sorry to say I’m off. The forum and content are great but the constant full page ads for inappropriate products like “skin whitening ….wtf” have made the forum unusable. Every page has an ad I have to cancel in order to read simple content and some pages have more ads than content. Facebook has less.
Happy New Year Michael, if you happen to come back and read this, there are two methods to overcome this, the naughty one and the "subscriber for £5" one.
I'm advert free using DuckDuckGo as my browser or as Chris stated above you can pay a subscribers fee for the same result. You get benefits if you subscribe, those of us in the cheap seats have less rating emojji's to use.
Dare I say that anyone who's not prepared to stump up what's a very insignificant annual amount for such a wealth of information and entertainment won't actually be missed.
Five pounds Michael. Ads be gone!! Furthermore, you’ll have access to the highly entertaining Speakers Corner where you can read all my amaaazing worldly wise contributions And there’s plenty of amusing ‘wrong think’ Anyway, Happy New Year lad…
How obvious is it to a new subscriber that you can pay £5 to remove the ads? Is it on their first login page as an option?
Things £5 won't get you anymore... Pint of beer (around this part of the world anyway) Packet of smokes A galleon of fuel Fish and chips Etc etc... Think a fiver for no adverts is an absolute bargain tbh.
No idea, it certainly isn't pushed to non subscribers. Both the adverts and subscribers pay for the forum. You could push for the forum to be placed behind a paywall a certain amount of time after registering. It would seem the thread starter only interacted with the forum sparingly if it took him/her 6 months to find the ads irksome. Perhaps the holiday season got the better of him?
I remember serving petrol when 2 star was 2s 6d a gallon and 5 star was 4s, ooh and a shot of Redex was a penny ha'penny Andy
