Aftermarket Indicators Electrics Advice Please

Discussion in 'Technical Help' started by tricolore, Jan 25, 2014.

  1. First time I've tackled anything electrical ( well 2nd actually, first time resulted in sparks flying everywhere ) and would appreciate some advice please.

I've got orange, green, black, black with white stripe wiring: what connects to what ?

What connecting plugs would you suggest ? last time I used the bullet type when I pulled them apart the wiring pulled through the plug.

Stupid questions I know, just want to get it right this time without too much swearing !!

  2. Well, in the past I've had similar troubles, and without resorting to a volt meter I just presumed both mostly black wires were ground, and each colour was a 12v feed to the indicator. I put bullets on everything and connected a black and a colour to an indicator, left say, then flick the left indicator if it flashes just connect the other indicator to the remaining wires. If it didn't flash remove the colour wire connector and fit the other coloured wire, check and finish the same.
    Hope this helps.

  3. What bike?

Your colors don't match up to my 1098 wiring diag but from diag all blacks are earths (negatives)

    Black/White LHS indicator feed (positive)
    White/Grey RHS indicator feed (positive)

Yellow is number plate light feed (positive)
