Aircon/heatpump Help!!!

Discussion in 'Lounge' started by NZDave, Jun 14, 2015.

  1. I've noticed there is a couple of HVAC engineers on here, I have a Fujitsu Inverter heat pump, model - ABTA18LATN (indoor unit), AOTA18LACL (outdoor unit), it intermittently stops and flashes a fault code, either - timer light (green) 2 flashes, then Power light (red) 5 flashes, or, - green and red 2 flashes together, then a further 5 flashes from the red light. It is possible that I have the colour of the flashes the wrong way around so take that into consideration as well, you know, the numpty factor.
Any ideas/help would be greatly appreciated, thanks, Dave.

  3. Make a note of the exact combination of flashes and whether they are fast flash or slow. Then check out google led flash codes for your model and they'll point you in the right direction. But more then likely you'll have to call an engineer out. I used to service Lennox boilers in Auckland and they had the same system, although more mechanical and less electronic........

  5. OK, Red is the power indicator light, Green is the timer light, so, 1st the Timer light flashes twice, (maybe with the Power light? but it may just be light transference from the Timer light?) then the Power light flashes a further 5 times, each flash is on/off in about a second. It then stops for about 10 - 20 seconds and repeats.
I've tried looking online but can't find anything for my model. I would guess it is code 25, but am not sure.

  6. This model is unique to PAC RIM and AU/NZ.
Forget the colours as these change from month to month, model to model (e.g. multi headed systems use green for power and singles use Red).
Based on the UK model ABYG18-24LV
A common problem is a data error between inside and outside.
Try powering it down for at least 20 minutes. That's power off outside and inside.
IF it persists, then check the data cable (3) from one end to the other. If it goes through any switches or isolators, by pass them.
    A simple reset clears it.
Last time it was a thunder storm.

I tried pasting the error code table, but it didn't work.
I've sent you the service manual for the UK version of the same machine.
It's heavy in places and assumes prior knowledge.
Once you've found which code it is get back to me.

    14. ERROR CODES If you use a wired type remote controller, error codes will appear on the remote controller display. If you use a wireless remote controller, the lamp on the photo detector unit will output error codes by way of blinking patterns.

Sorry I cannot cut n paste?

  9. Cheers @AirCon , I'll give the switch off inside/outside units trick a go in the next couple of days, on shift at the moment so no time until next days off, will get back in touch then, thanks very much for the help so far :upyeah:.

  10. Any update?

  11. Hi @AirCon It hasn't crapped out again yet, so I'll leave it be until it does.
