Akro Or Termi Slip On

  1. Hey all, I was looking at fitting some cans on, after picking up the bike last week, the bike seems to do a lot of popping through exhaust.
Had a feeling the previous owner may of had an after market exhaust on.
I have usually had Akro on previous bikes, but since it's my first no jap bike, they seem to mainly have Termi on.
Can't seem to find a comparison for the both in terms of gains and quality.

  2. Mine pops a lot on the over run but other than that it doesnt....

  3. My 848 used to pop on the over run even as standard, nothing to worry about. If u are paying full money, I would get Akrapovics, if I'm being honest I would say that Termi aren't built brilliantly for the money, but often they are subsidised and have specific maps already developed by Ducati. Both are 'good'. I would avoid cheap noise... Worth looking at a set of Arrows, I had full titanium arrow pipes on my 848 evo and they were built beautifully

  4. A local guy to me has an SC Project end can on his 848 SF. Looks really nice (stubby design) and sounds really good. Check them out.

I had Akrapovic on my 1098SF and now also do on my 1198s, don't think i would go back to Termi now as prefer the tone of the Akra's.

  5. And I'm on the other side! On a Ducati, I prefer Termignoni. For the looks, sound and heritage of the two brands. This makes me sad, but I'm old enough to live with that.

Agree with others, Akrapovic do seem to be better quality nowadays. I have a full Akrapovic on my Tuono and it's a nice piece of engineering.

End of the day it's what you prefer: It's your bike.

  6. My Termi's pop on the over run at high revs, but not low down. The only set up I've had done was a TPS reset once the new ECU was plugged in. It runs absolutely fine.

  7. ...I quite like the 'Pops' :Bag:

  8. Have termis on my SFS. They seem well made, look beautiful, are lighter than standard and there is noticeably,(though not massively,) more poke. Whats not to like?

  9. Termis for me. Can't say I've got any problem with quality. They look pretty damn good tome and the style suits the bike better than any other aftermarket twin cans. Don't like the logo though. Those stickers come straight off.
If I wasn't going Termi I'd be tempted by an Austin Racing system.
