  1. Time to replace the headlamp bulb on my 2013 Hyper

I had replaced the OEM bulb with a "brighter" Osram something something, which has lasted for 2.5 years, 20K miles, and its been OK

just wondered what others have been using and if they can claim any improvements over standard

anybody tried the LED type, would be interested if anybody has found a direct replacement that does not require any modifications, cutting, additional wiring etc

current bulb type is an H4 fitting

    thanks

  2. @Derek ?

  3. HID kits are bright.

got an HID kit in a box, theres not much room behing the fairing on the HM so too much irreversible hacking/cutting of the headlight unit to make it worth while :/

  5. :(

  6. If you have room for the fan housing behind the lamp these LED units are brilliant. I had a full set of 4 H11s on my MTS and they were as good as HID. I tried them in my new Supersport 939, they fit the lamps but the bottom yoke hits the fan housings on full lock :(

  7. And I should add I had no problem with the beam pattern.

  8. A couple of pictures i took when i thought about fitting the HID lights, that's a lot of wires to fit in not a lot of space. Also note that in the first image, showing the bulb in the back of the headlight, there is a cap that should be fitted there, no chance of making that fit.

@Derek the bulb you linked to, doesn't look like it would fit either :/

  9. I didn't fit one to my Scrambler because I can't get the cap on with an LED lamp. Leaving the cap off would be asking for trouble from dirt and water ingress. I did fit one to my 907ie though. The beam pattern is OK but I had to adjust the height all the way down to get it to a legal height

  10. I've seen many a person mod the cap, and basically cut a hole for the cooling fans. Some went as far as fitting a rubber ring to seal (somewhat) when the cap is pushed over the fan.

Could always try ordering a spare cap from a dealer (can't be that expensive) and having a go.
