Hey guys. I figured I’d wait until the bugs were sorted out before buying one..lol Finally picked up a bike I always envied. 2000 996. I will be giving it some much needed treatment over the winder, bring her back to factory red. Great forum! Lots of knowledge on here.
Hi newbie Will look much better in red Don’t forget to post a picture of your bins/rubbish/recycling we like them and it keeps me happy welcome into our mad house
Welcome fella-That’s a big job, so I have to ask why did you not just buy a red one if that’s what you wanted?
welcome, good luck with the paint job. i'm sure when you pop the fairings off you'll be distracted with plenty other stuff you'll want to do too
Welcome, I think it looks ok in the Blue scheme. A bit different to the usual red or occasional yellow. I'd be tempted to try and find another set of bodywork in red and a red tank rather than do a colour change. The blue wheels will look ok with a red bike, they didn't make the #155 Bostrom bikes look too bad.
I did pickup a 2nd tank and will be going red on another set of fairings. Good eye, the wheels did come off a Bostrom bike.
Welcome. Looks like a great project. Fantastic to ride and easy to work on. Arrow pipes are also fairly rare on this side of the pond. Does the bike have an interesting history?
I have a few parts if anyone is interested, let me know. Rear subframe Complete lockset Speedometer MPH
