New member here, not new to riding. This summer the wife and I will be moving to Lakenheath and this Ducati site was mentioned to me. Looking forward to getting my Hyper over there. I'm an avid track rider (track junkie). I do around 1-2 track days per month here, and am looking forward to continue the same in England. We decided we will kinda start all over again and plan to sell all our vehicles, besides my motorbike. So I'll probably have plenty of questions coming soon regarding what kind of vehicles to look for, and how the track days operate over there. Anyways looking forward to this move and meeting some riders! Some pictures of the bike:
Also, is any familiar if I will have to change or do something to my bike? I don't know exactly if U.S. models can have different emissions on them.
They will have the odd track day in the early winter/spring, but you'll need to be brave and fit snow tyres(Tires)!
I've just looked where Lakenheath is, as others have said you are very close to Snetterton but also within a couple of hours you have Cadwell Park, Donnington Park, Silverstone, Rockingham, Mallory Park and Brands Hatch. Prime trackday country! As for my earlier comment, most people who do regular trackdays in the UK try to get hold of a spare set of wheels with race wet tyres fitted, just in case the great british weather strikes! there are quite a few trackday companies in the UK but the big 3 are http://nolimitstrackdays.com/ http://www.msvtrackdays.com and http://www.focusedevents.com/ As for riding all year, yes you can ride all year on track in the UK but it can get pretty miserable in the winter. However there is an answer, both No Limits and Focused run 3-4 day trackday 'holidays' in Spain and Portugal over the winter and they are an absolute blast!
Awesome information. Definitely looking forward to getting out there. I'll make sure I have my usual variety of different tires for different conditions. I have read some info about the headlight thing, but that seems to only apply to motorbikes that have the dual headlights with only one on. Ducati just has one headlight and points straight>
Hiya, hope you are fine with banter. The headlight will have a lens diffuser/prism effect that will angle the light. You can usually just tape that bit up and you'd be okay.
There are regulations for importing bikes and cars. I'm sure the employers will have some previous experience in that area.
