This one is blatent misleading advertising by ebay itself they advertise free listing of items over a weekend sounds great but they charge you for relisiting items you disn't sell previously
Sometimes you have to check small print as I got free listing this weekend but .,, only by mobile app... yes I think you have to re type it...Also not use tools to list. They put a cookie on my account so my money did not go to me then denied it!!! It took me hours on the phone and I had phone put down in me and called a liar!in the end I went nuts and said can proove it . Suddenly it was fixed
I got a free listing weekend & whacked a load of stuff on - to get charged listing fee's??! Re-reading it said "fixed-price free listing weekend"... not auction-style listings... Hmph. :frown:
How do buy it nows work ... is that different to fixed price ?? Because on BIN you now have to start the auction at 40% less the the BIN price!! so means you have to risk selling at a stupid low price or you may get a Buy it Now on the item.. They put a cookie on my paypal address a name I had never heard of!!! so all my money was going to some random person who's name I did not know! This happened about 5 times and caused me so many problems.. and lost sales. They called me a liar , said I had filled it in and made up the address myself! After 2 hour long calls , yup I would really prevent myself from getting paid! After ranting at them again my stuff magically apeared ! and the cookie was practically gone. They refused to ad mit it was them.
They only ever talk to me in German. Just because I live in Switzerland, they seem to think I want to speak German. There is no French or Italian version of the Swiss eBay website despite the fact that about a third of the population doesn't speak German. Even if I buy something on English eBay, when it comes to paying, suddenly everything is in German. Just as well I speak a bit of it, but don't really like doing financial transactions in it. Bastards.
I've never had a problem with them, I have had a problem with people trading on E-Bay. It's a bit rich to complain about not reading the details of a contract with them, if you don't know the difference between an auction, a BIN and an auction with a BIN associated with it then you need to do more research before you start selling with them. After all you wouldn't open a shop or market stall in you local town/market without checking how you pay your rent and how much it will be. If you think E-Bay have complex trading agreements, best stay away from Amazon!
