More 20mph speed limits in bid to slash accident deaths by 2020 | Daily Mail Online So I expect that apart from the fact that some of the time the Red Routes are jammed up with hardly moving traffic, in the moments when you could get moving the speed cameras have worked and less people are getting nicked...... .........thus the revenue must have dropped considerably from speed cameras on those roads..... ....of course, the government could hardly increase taxes just prior to the General Election, so they compensate by dropping the speed limits to 20mph and start nicking in large numbers again...... It can't be for anything else if you consider that vehicles travelling at 20mph in lower gears will be much less economical and chucking out more exhaust emissions than they would at higher speeds.
The chance to get up to 20 in this town would be a fine thing More arse ended accidents from people trying to move the traffic along or they are that bored sitting they thought the traffic was moving drrr
Daily mail online; Reading the Daily Mail and then quoting the gained " information" increases the blood pressure.. It's official, I read it in the Daily Mail.
It's Catch 22. If they lower the limit and it lowers accident rates, they say "great it works, let's lower it more". If they lower the limit and it doesn't lower accident rates, they just say "well, we haven't lowered it enough yet, we need to lower it more". It's a way of fleecing motorists - and all those morons who have been brainwashed into believing speed is the root cause of all accidents are part of the problem... Speed is not the issue in most accidents - it's usually down to someone not paying proper attention.
BBC News - London cyclists in 23,000 accidents over five years ban cyclists from London, reduce accident stats by 23000. logical?
