Poor old Dennis Norden passes at 96 years old.......I think he contributed far more to the entertainment industry than we are probably aware of......RIP Dennis.

In describing the premise behind It’ll Be Alright On The Night, Norden once said: ‘It's like running a farm where the manure is worth more than the cattle.’ Brilliant !
Apparently he asked to see Lord Grade for a meeting as they were both in the ITV building at the same time. Dennis pitched the idea to him, and in less than 30 minutes Lew Grade said OK, on one condition, we call it It'll be alright on the night. So it decided on in less than 30 minutes. Imagine how many meetings upon meetings that would suffer now.
