Any Course Fishermen (women) Out There ?

  1. So I'm tidying and I've gone into the cupboard under the stairs to make room for all the motorcycle gear and I came across this.

    It's split cane and was a gift from a pilot friend of my parents. From memory it came from Hong Kong in about the late 60s and has never been used. It can be a 2 piece short course rod or a 3 piece fly rod that has a spare tip. Not sure if it has any value or is still useable but if anyone is willing to take a chance, Morrisons do 2 x 660ml bottles of Estrella for £4. Can be exchanged at RG26 5PA (West Berks/North West Hants J11/12 M4 or J6 M3). Andy

  2. That is one lovely rod.I used to fish in the 60's and split cane rods were just the thing.Wish I was close by-I would certainly give you a few beers for it and more.

  10. I travel the M4 and I may well be coming past the junction at the weekend

  12. @mervyn, I can offer no guarantee that the rod is useable so it's not right to ask a lot and anyway I enjoy beer. If you are prepared to take a chance which might meam you just end up buying me beer, I'm happy to liaise with @Ducbird to get it down to you. I have to apolgise to Ducbird for mentioning the opposition but not every supermarket (locally) regularly stocks Estrella in the 660ml size which tastes a lot better than the silly little 330s.
