Still hoping for a tour with friends later in the year and whilst I have used the Sena SRL universal connect mode in a group, it’s not particularly good over about 200 or 300 yards when paired with an assortment of headsets. I know one of our group has a Sena 30 Mesh unit and reading the bumpf, it looks to offer better quality communications in a group. I see there is a bluetooth adaptor that links with any Sena headset and gives Mesh capability. I’d greatly appreciate feedback (good or bad) from any users. Andy
Andy, Had been using Interphone blue tooth in group comms. Recently we had a review and now gone to Cardo Pack Talks with DMC mesh. Fantastic kit, probably best available on the market at this time. Cheers TC
Not going to help you much with your question, but in general the Cardos have been the best sound quality and maintaining pairing over the greatest distances. I have tried Sena, Vortix, Cardo, and I forget the other, normally a hard wired radio make.
Thank you chaps for the suggestion but the only option I am looking at is to buy or not buy the Sena Mesh adaptor to work with the kit we already have. Andy
It's interesting tech but looks a bit like something else to charge, and mount... and it's not costing buttons. When there's just two of us I have no bother with the Sena but more than two "works" except for when it doesn't... limitations of the tech I suppose.
I quite often ride with a small group of friends, all of whom have a Sena of some description. Linking has become a lot easier with the unique bar code function in the phone app but the link over distance is still hit or miss. Just thought this Mesh adaptor would be handy. It’s clearly a little too new yet for it to be widely used but I might take a punt anyway. That is, if I can find any stock in the UK. I see Sena are offering trade-in incentives to 30S owners to upgrade to the 50S in the US. Andy
Sena products seem a bit patchy from a stock perspective. I fancied one of their cycling helmets but can't seem to get one here in the UK. Good luck and please post your experiences if you get one, I'll be interested to know if it works as billed.
Okay, an update and closure. Found this, https://www.sena.com/mesh-two, and from the comparison chart, the +Mesh adaptor at around £100, is clearly not value for money. The standalone adaptor has very limited functionality by comparison and does not offer anywhere near the benefits offered by the products with it integrated into their firm/hardware. Wasted my time but I guess that is the benefit of research, it’s only my time I’ve lost and not money. Andy
