I'm probably a year out from jumping into this sport & wondered if anyone on here does it? Pitfalls & general chit-chat would be a nice start.
Used to years ago. Always went abroad because it was painful sitting on a hill in the U.K. waiting on wind. If you can, do your training somewhere like Cyprus with a UK school. It'll be faster to get qualified.

I've done it a couple of times in olu Deniz Turkey. Warmer up the mountain and a better view while sunbathing.Take off can be iffy off Babadag mountain 6600 feet but the warmer air takes you much higher. Watched a young women once change her mind about taking off , ouch.
