Yeah...fairweather bikers really piss me off too. Jokes aside, I did once ride a Ktm 990 down a motorway with about 15cm of snow on the ground
When I commuted on the bike in all weathers visor misting was always the greater problem, even with pinlocks. Rain on the visor could easily be cleared with a v wipe built into most gloves & if going fast enough just turning the head a little would be enough for the wind to run the drops off. Besides the drops are so far within your range of focus they're not always an issue. I had thought of buying a 'Turbo Visor' but reckoned it was a little too stylish for me:
Not ever considered anything like that, i'm far too cool. On occasion when I drive the van in the rain I leave the windscreens wipers to give the sensation i'm riding in the rain complete with making motorcycle type noises. Can't do it when the Mrs is there as she A/ doesn't like a windscreen with raindrops on and B/ Thinks it's immature to do so.
you probably remember that "anti-smear" spray that caught on for a while - you sprayed it on your visor but 1/ Visor had to be tip-top/brand new condition. 2/Spray didn't last that long and wasn't cheap. you could tilt your head left or right and 90% (ish) of water droplets were gone. This would not appeal to you N, but for glass-wearing people, in the winter it was worth considering.
There have been all sorts of treatments over the years haven’t there. Not ever tried any of them though as I just got used to the raindrops and I’m far too tight to buy such products.
yes, Rain-X is the one that has remained, and it's at a reasonable price now, can't remember how many decades ago I first came across similar.
