I also posted this in the Build and Projects section, but also wondered if anyone here had any ideas? I recently fitted some different footpegs to my 1200 Multistrada and also bought a Palmer Products gear shift. The metal gear lever is not terribly attractive and also potentially slippery in wet weather. Does anyone know a company, or individual that could machine a pattern onto this? Something like these (doesn't need to be so fancy) The alternative is to get something better looking made up.

What is shown in the top pictures is called knurling. I have a lathe and milling machine and could do either, that's as long as the material hasn't been hardened. If it has it would be easier to start from scratch. Drop me a pm.
Just a quick tip, if you do get the diamond knurling done give it a good rub over afterwards with some fine emery tape, the knurl will wear it's way through your boot after a while. I made one when I was a kid at school for my KX125 and wore through a good Alpine Star boot above the toe :'(
I've bought a pair of the Race Supplies ones, at £5 you can't really go wrong (hopefully). If this doesn't work I'll look at the alternatives or take up PL2112's kind offer (if it's suitable for his lathe)
Race supplies ones are the ideal length, but they have a smaller bolt than the Palmer products ones. I'd need to use a sleeve spacer to make a tight fit.
