You could always get 25mm taken out of the standard seat if you took it to a local automotive upholstery company. And it’ll be cheaper to do too
All they do is take it out of the bottom of the foam section not the top/shaped bit, so it’ll feel just the same
I bought one and found it was no lower than standard. Looking at them together it is lower but it is harder so doesn’t compress when you sit on it whereas the standard seat does compress. I found them to be exactly the same in the tip of my toes test so I sent it back.
I'm tempted to order one, if I find it not for me, return it. I think saddles can be a personal thing too. I bought a comfort seat for my 899 and much prefer the stock saddle so sent it off for reupholstery with some anti-slip fabric. I don't really want to mess with the stock saddle of the SF V4S incase I don't like a lower saddle. The stock is ok, but borderline for me, I have to tip toe with both legs down. Doesn't affect me riding it apart from I could struggle to back out of spaces and occaisionally may need to get off the bike to push it back.
Most likely slightly different, part number for the SF V4S lowered seat is: 96880871AA That part number doesn't show it as compatible with the Panigale.
Stef, I’d definitely consider taking the original to an automotive upholstery company. You can then specify exactly what you want. I’ve had it done a few times, including on the Bayliss. @bettes had his seat reupholstered recently too.
I’m picking up my 899 saddle hopefully Thursday from Viking near brands hatch, prob have a chat with him about it.
Have a google for pics of Danny Pedrosa on the grid - he's so far sat to one side to get a foot down you wonder how he managed the bike at all given a mass of <60kgs. He's an amazing rider!! I'll sit off the side of my GS sometimes just to move a bit..
