Anyone else experiencing processor speed issues after the latest iOS update ? Fekking iPad has now started freezing or running desperately slowly in a variety of applications since I updated. Only way out is to close the application or just bale by turning it off. Andy
Other operating systems are available... As a long-term (1994>) Mac / Apple fanboy I am very disgruntled with their present state. I've flipped to Android for phone (running a 2017 Pixel 2 with Oreo) and am toying with a Surface Pro running Windows 10. I still use iOS for iPad (bike mags all subscribed through iTunes... doh) and OS X on my MacBook Pro but increasingly willing to consider other options. It's sad but some things that used to "just work" now "just don't".
The6 have also ruined multi tasking on iPad. Used to work great, and ver6 easy. Now, split screen is a nightmare to get working
Funny, that’s true. And the I 8 key. I like the downward stroke instead of using shift but, again, it’s clearly beta version released to production for the millions of Apple users to test for free
All recent Apple software updates, and the majority of hardware releases come to think of it, have been an absolute joke for a good 12-24 months. IPhone 6s started with major battery flaws, then the iphone 7 was released but software fixed by throttling (see recent law suits), add in the latest macbook and macbook pro's which dumped all useful ports and repair ability, purchasing restricted your processor choice unless you went for the frankly piss poor designed 'touch bar' version which barely any developers are spending time on. Even my older gen macbook pro keeps losing autofill on each and every bloody safari update. IOS 11 (all versions) seem rushed, huge issues overlooked on each release, fortnightly patches, it's just a mess. This is a good article and one that trys to look past the glitter to ask some serious questions about Apples deception, although not far enough in my view - https://www.forbes.com/sites/gordon...shutdown-iphone-battery-problem/#741a96004423 I'm an apple fan of old, but I genuinely think the last decent phone was the iphone 7 (excluding battery issue), last decent macbook pro was the 2015 and probably the best all rounder was, and still is the macbook air which they haven't changed much in 10 years but that was the sweet spot for the average user. They may be the richest company in the world, but I'm afraid to say that it's nothing like the firm Jobs ran, this is just a monster money making company hiding that fact by trading on its legacy of user functionality but really doing nothing short of building obsolescence in to every product they manufacture. It's as plain as day and unfortunately millions of people keep lapping it up (although I think the wheels are gradually falling off) I am an apple fan, but I'm not a rose tinted glasses one, and in truth I'm struggling to find something new of theirs I'd want to buy, other than an ipad, but the one I've got would be ok if they didn't keep crippling it with software updates
Just updated my iPhones (6 and 7) and my Ipad. All good so far although I did notice a slight freeze on my iPhone 7 when it booted up.
I updated my MacBook to latest iOS and outlook became unsupportable so had to be deleted. Won’t make the same mistake with my iMac.
