bought this a month ago and just finished cleaning it. It was hiding a few surprises. Never buy a bike youve only seen for 5 mins in a car park!!!
Oh nothing major, just lots of little niggles. Back brake shot Oil black as --- despite bill for change 600 miles ago lower fairings in poor state sump plug knackered (good old dremell) Generaly very grubby broken air intake lots of corroded fasteners Generaly quite neglected Big dent in left can peeling laquer under r and g sticker on tank (always be suspicious of extra stickers)
just me, but have been looking for an excuse to get an Aprilia for half my life. Some of their item design/engineering is second to none (IMO). If only they had generally/not model specific, (IMO) got fairing styling to gel with overall design more, I think I would have had one by now - wish I could get a swinging arm like that on a Ducati for example.
I had a 2003 RSVR and it was an awesome road weapon. Cornered on rails, engine sweet as a nut and really powerful. Only problem was that at 6'4" I needed physiotherapy after every 50 miles.
Im 6ft and its my 3rd rsvr so I know how painfull they are, but it will be my least used bike so nothing over 100 mile trips. Funny realy cos its such a big bike youd think it would be ok but my fireblade is much more comfortable.
I would have another as a short blast toy ... Always wanted the Bol D'or special edition .... Loved it.
If you are interested in fitting RSV swingarm get intouch with forum member Borgo Panigale he did it with his project a while back.
