£1250 My lads Aprilia SX50, owned for a little over 12 Months used daily to get to and from school, it’s in good condition and is appropriate for the mileage it has covered 15,300 He has run it with injected fully synthetic oil, always warmed up correctly before setting off. Everything works as it should, ready to ride away. It has been faultless during that time, starts first or second kick. It has been derestricted by the previous owner, run on E5. PED Moto exhaust It has approximately 11 Months MOT, passed with no advisories. Fitted as majority are with a manual cooling fan I have changed during the last 4 weeks of him riding it: New chain and sprocket. Wheel bearings Front and rear. New rear brake pads. Tyres are good Viewing is welcome and encouraged, we have nothing to hide with regard to the bike. If you purchase it as a gift for your Son/Daughter before they are of age I can deliver it for the cost of fuel, however you will need to view the bike prior to this. He doesn’t want a PX of anything, unless you have a Standberg Classic NX6 in Natural Flame Maple which is spotless.
I/we have a earlier sx50 that was bought as a back up should this advertised bike go bang engine side. However it’s a 70 big bore but you could put it back to standard. We’d want £650 for that one and it runs premix, let me know and I can dig it out of the garage and take some photos.
Great little engine in these, my Son had a Gilera RCR50 - a similar machine with the same engine and with just an exhaust & re-jet it could hit 65mph. Considered fitting a a big-bore kit to it but instead got a YBR125 which he instantly regretted as it was slower...
It’s been great and mostly faultless, indicators being the biggest pain in the ass. He warmed it up religiously every time he ride it, E5 fuel and fully synthetic oil. He came home a couple of times with concerns the engine was acting up, which gave me an excuse to ride it. There is for me something engaging riding a little 2 stroke 59, might just be a smattering of nostalgia. He has now got MX125 which is a flying machine in comparison, I did consider putting a 70cc Polini on but we opted for the MX125.
