I live in an apartment block, second floor so about 30 feet up. Out of my south facing window in the front room I get glorious sunshine and can see trees, grass and generally a nice view. I also see a lot of the flying birds, starlings, seagulls, blackbirds and of course pigeons. There seems to be something about pigeons that at least once every other month, one of these dumb birds flies straight into my window. A few times it's happened whilst I'm sitting down so see it and other times I open the curtains in the morning and see a waxy print of a birds body with their wings out shape on my window. No other birds do this, just pigeons, dumb arseole pigeons looks similar to this
I get the same problem with my back bedroom window. They leave a big oily print of their stupid crumpled faces on the glass. Saw a sparrow hawk take one out recently, which was nice.
Are Pigeons The Dumbest Bird? I really think you should meet my lass before coming to this conclusion !!
I watched a cock pheasent once walking along the base of a garden wall. On his other side was wide open expanse of grass with no barrier of any kind but when he came to an opening in the wall and a wrought iron gate that was lying open at right angles across his path, rather than walking round the gate he tried to push through the bars. But he was to big. His head would go through which was promising but bafflingly the rest of his body would not. He tried repeatedly and put a lot of effort into it. He tried without flapping his wings and again with vigorous beating but it didn't help. Then he had a go at clambering over the hinge to squeeze between the frame and the wall but that was worse so he went back and inspected the gaps between the other bars and tried each of those as well, but it was no good. In the end he gave it up, turned round and walked back the way he had come looking crestfallen. What a dopey twat.
