Auxiliary power.

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by Desmo Pete, Apr 6, 2012.

  1. I have an 1100s.

Under the right front panel there is the heated grip socket. Plugged into that is my acerbis hand guard LED's.

I would like to wire in my intercom to a switched power source. The intercom itself will be under the left panel, by the battery so won't have access to its on/off switch.

    Any ideas?

  2. I've piggy backed my intercom feed off the 12v accessory socket by the footrest hanger - only took about 10 mins to do and it's a switched feed on the same circuit as the sat nav.

  3. Yes I would 2nd this option.

  4. I assume this is on the 1200 as I have the 1100 and have never seen or heard of an accessory socket where you mentioned?

  5. Yes they're both 1200'ers :) [click the + sign below avatars for bike details etc;-]

An option would be to fit some form of aux fuse / connector block like this:
    3 Circuit
....or for more cash there's the:

Toratech TPS15 CANbus helper (I know the 1100 isn't canBUS but no worry) - Touratech UK - new ideas for motorbikes - the latest Touratech and Touratech Streetline Catalogues - parts and accessories for BMW, KTM, HONDA, SUZUKI, YAMAHA, APRILIA, KAWASAKI, TRIUMPH and BUELL motorbikes, news, articles, newsletters, travel event
    or
Centech AP-2 Auxiliary Fuse Panel - Centech Online Wiring and Automotive Accessories
    or
    Fuzeblocks.com FZ1 fuse block - FUZEBLOCKS.COM

....all of which give you the option for connecting further accessories.

If you really want to go to town!
