I’m off to WDW this year with the same crowd as last time - albeit only eight of us this time. I've got my DOC t-shirt and sunnies and I'm raring to go ;-) This weekend I loaded up my van and took the bike to London for transport down. The last time I was at Ray's new place was two years ago, and they were about to move in. Quite a change in two years!
I've booked my Moto Guzzi LM in with Ray for August, to have its clutch replaced. Hope he can fit it in!
Just found out that the 100hp club http://www.100hp.com/ have a special Monster party while we are there. I think the prize for the group who travel furthest to be there is in the bag
This time I won't make it to the 100HP club on the pre-WDW Wednesday night, so although I now have 2 Monsters, neither will be screaming in Tradate! I'm setting off the day after tomorrow, heading to Sicily for a few days (in search of Montalbano, arancini and Mount Etna) before riding north to WDW. Maybe I'll see some forum folks at Misano. Now I've dragged myself kicking and screaming into the 21st century with a smartphone, I might try and post a trip report to the forum as I go.
Max told me of your plans. Just keep moving to keep cool ... it’s going to be scorchio that far South next week! Maybe see you at WDW again
@Dave The track programme timetable is that something you were able to get from the app? I keep checking the app for more details but I don't see this kind of information. Cheers TB
Typical Italian disorganisation isn’t it. It has been the same at every WDW I’ve been to. I got it from a post on FB not from the app. It looks credible - but could be they do something totally different come the weekend. If you are after a track session then be prepared for a roasting under the sun as they keep you waiting, and then just a few laps before they call you in. I did it on my D16RR in 2014 and I’d only just got my bearings before that was it. Still, at least I can say I’ve done a hot lap of Misano ... I’d love another go but I won’t be doing it this year.

Interesting conversation trying to convince them that the bike had no indicators when built, so we had to reach a compromise on an advisory Next stop Italy ....
First few days up North in Tradate (which is SE of Varese) exploring the lakes as guests of the 100hp club. Not sure where we are staying near Misano as I am just tagging along with a group trip organised by some MOC members. I’ll let you know as soon as I find out.
We are in Urbino - http://www.hotelmeridianaurbino.com/. And @Pete1950 is in Urbino too but is at the other end of town I believe.
Rode my Africa Twin straight from Goodwood Festival of Speed to Gatwick (free bike parking) and arrived in Milan gone midnight. We are staying in Tradate for a few days and keeping the bikes at 100HP club HQ up the road http://www.motociclignoranti.com/
We had a short ride out to Lake Maggiore for a typically fantastic Italian lunch yesterday. The road alongside the lake has some nice sweeping curves on it Unfortunately after lunch my bike was only firing on one cylinder. The spark on the rear is really weak but luckily with http://www.motociclignoranti.com/ nearby we should be able to fix it.
Keep the pics coming gents....had my stint away from the wife and kids this year (TT) so my long distance trips are done with this year....although WDW is on the bucket list...assuming i get the motor back in the hyper any time soon...
