Does anyone live in or has lived in Barcelona ? We're out here for the week as we have an Aragon trip next weekend and looking at moving out here. I've no idea how we're going to make it happen with work and so trying to ease the transition. I figured if we could find someone who was renting a room over the odd long weekend it would enable us to get out here a bit to get to know the place, and also to see if travelling into London for work for the week was feasible. Currently we are thinking Vallvidrera which is in the mountains to the north and overlooking Barcelona. 30mins to Catalunya station in the centre of the city by tube and an hour to the airport so it's practical, plus there's epic mountain roads all around!
If all else fails we have used HouseTrip on several occasions for long weekend stays in Barcelona and have found them very good. They are a clearing house for owner renters and you deal with the owner at every stage apart from payment. HouseTrip keep the dosh for 3 days from the first day of rental just in case there are problems. All areas of Barcelona at most budgets. Andy
i dont know if its the same folk but i've just booked up a place in Valencia using homestay.com for the GP £38 for three nights in some local lass's house, as opposed to £330/night that the holiday inn wanted for a single room "no brainer" and hopefully she can guide me in to the city and then off to the circuit, you cant beat local knowledge lol
