Marketing stunt. The ad says price on application. It'll still be an "optimistic" price though I'msure. Andy
Jeez, bold move. There seems to be more and more of dealers doing mad stuff like this. I wonder If they just think they aren't going to sell stuff in winter so if they put the price up on everything by £1000 and do happen to sell something it keeps the lights on for another month from one sale! Although in this instance £85k is quite the mark up
I have been looking at some of the dealers prices for various makes of bikes. Some of the prices are laughable especially for some of the 'tastefully modified at a cost of 1000's' examples.I thought money was tight at the moment?
I wonder what that bike is really worth these days. Anyone have an idea? If I ever become rich (scratch that. "When" I become rich) one of these well be going into the garage - along with the MHR Evo and the Paul Smart Rep.
If you could get a good 888 for sub 6 grand that would seem like an excellent investment to me. Bet it's never worth less in the future.
^ there were several last year but general trend seems to be climbing more than usual. I hate the fact that E-bay is effectively the 'price barometer' these days.
Quite often you will see a much overpriced bike re appear on ebay months after it his failed to sell.Perhaps the seller hoping this time round he will find a mug who has more money than sense.I agree with Chris on this price barometer and often wonder what some of these bikes actually sell for.I am hoping to buy an old Brit bike this weekend, and I know a lot about this model.I look at what the bits would cost to source and buy and therefore the material value of the machine.I then look at build cost and typical average value.Once I have worked that out I look at how desirable is it to me and what price would I pay to own it I decide what price I am prepared to pay for it.I will not pay over the odds, but then again I won't fanny around over a few hundred pounds if I really want it.
Bizarrely I'm pleased it's rather overpriced. If it was a more realistic price I'd want it AND maybe do more about it. Now, I just want it desperately.... i couldn't get it anyhow. There's four bikes in the garage already - and I couldn't boot a Chinese 125 out now could i?
He's also selling a BMW K1. He says it's done 13k miles but the photo of the clocks he's kindly put up shows 31k. Odd.
