  4. 1998 916 with 3400 miles bought in 2009 for £3000. If I'd been quicker I could have bought it earlier with just under 3k miles for about £2700. It's all back to totally bog standard and un messed with now with just 4.5k miles on it.Last bike I sold was in 1976 so havn't really sold any too cheap yet.

  5. That’s an early one

  6. Yep. That's why I chose to keep it totally standard. (Previous post corrected).

  7. What are your best and worst deals when buying and selling your Ducati?

The answer is in the question. Anything Ducati. Best price haggled usually buying, and rubbish residuals when sold. Wouldn't have another one...……

Unfortunately due to my recent accident I appear to now suffer from some confusion, and memory problems. It appears I have forgotten the above :O(

    It's too late.

    Better keep it.

  10. bought from near Guildford? - if so was mine, can add details if it was.

  11. Long time ago but yes possibly, did you come to view it in a Lotus?

  12. Sold my genuine 1970 AF Rayspeed GP250 Special X Type Lambretta in 1990 for £750 as I needed money for uni. Today I could sell it for excess of 10K. I shit ye not.

  13. Not one I bought but should have.....

35 years ago a mate of my Dad offered us a 1960’s 250 Ducati single for £500.... it wasn’t a two stroke so wasn’t interested.

Fast forward 30 years and chatting to a customer, Bikes come up, turns out he now owns it... it has a racing pedigree about a mile long and is worth about £30k....

    B*gger....

    2007 1098S with 7500 miles in 2014 for £6000
    IMG_5035.JPG

2011 SFS with 6000miles this year for £9000

Still have them all. Think the SFS was a good price considering how scarce they are. I'm pretty sure it'll go up in value. :)

  15. Bought a 748sp that was advertised in local newspaper for 2200 and doubled my money a year later.

Drove to Hughenden M40 to buy a MH900e but they wouldn’t knock a hundred quid off the price so I walked away. A week later they rang me but I’d bought my SP5 and a 350lc for less money than the MH.

Bought a brand new Gsxr 1000 K2 in Germany and there was a RC45 next to it for 1000 euro more but I thought it was too expensive........

  16. ? no, did you buy it from near Guildford?

  17. Hi Chris ,sorry for the confusion ,I bought it locally in Lincs...I think I sold it to a guy from the Guildford area.

  18. ah! what a coincidence - sold same bike, around the same year for around that money. You did very well to get £2.4 back in 2009.

  19. Every bike I have bought falls into the first category

    None fit the second

  20. Didn't quite get £2.4k for it … as I recall it was closer to £2.1K , its a small world, if you can recall the registration number PM me and I will let you know if it's the same bike.
