Putting a new Lithium battery on the bike. What did you do about the foil backing on it. Is it easy to remove and put on the new battery or am I better off putting new stuff on it. If so what did you use.
There was no foil on the back of the battery on my 1299S. Are you replacing a lead-acid battery with a lithium one?
It’s a lithium one on mine which I’m replacing with another lithium one. It has got foil on the side which faces the engine. Must have been fitted by the previous owner. Not the best pic but you can just make it out.
The lithium I fitted was snug in the holder so no need to pack it out etc , heat is not an issue if holder is ok. Lithiumm much better starting grunt and holds its charge better and less weight.
