Hi guys, which battery charger do you recommend to a V4S? As far as I know the Ducati charger I used on my 1299 is not usable on V4S as it has lithium battery.
The only current charger recommended is the Skyrich one which strangely is a lot cheaper bought from Ducati than from Skyrich themselves. Fore warned though, the charger does not come with the DDA plug lead which you have to order separately. Andy
That looks identical to the one I bought, the benefit is that it is a LiFePO battery maintainer so you can leave it plugged in to manage the drain caused by the tracker. Just need to get yourself either the lead to hard wire to the battery terminals or the lead to plug into the DDA socket which I think is under the seat. Andy

Yep although I would check the two ends of the leads to make sure you have the right polarity. I only mention it because whilst hard wiring a sat nav, the plug lead I have on the bike is opposite to what I needed. Andy
A recent technical note issued by Ducati to UK authorised dealers (and I guess workshops) states that the Skyrich battery charger is the only one recommended for the Panigale V4S and Speciale. The Ducati workshop battery charger part number is the Skyrich charger. Andy
best I unplug it when I get home...tsk... Edit: Found this on their site. Skyrich lithium batteries can be re-charged using a standard lead acid battery charger – see our Charging instructions here Only note to bear in mind is not to use chargers that desulphate
I am not qualified or experienced enough to offer you advice so you should do what you feel is appropriate. The Panigale V4S and Speciale OE battery is currently supplied by Skyrich so I’m assuming that is the reason for the recommendation given the potential tempremental nature of the lithium battery technology and warranties. I know the restrictions in the guarantee terms and conditions of the Shido batteries I bought for the 853 and the 1098R made them totally inappropriate to use so I’ve gone back to fibreglass mat lead acid. Boot's, the 1299s comes with a standard battery not a lithium one, going from memory the superleggera, anniversairo and final edition all come with lithium as standard, a lithium battery is available as a Ducati Performance accessory for the 1299s/1299.
If someone can supply technical data sheets for everything... I may be able to see why..... purely for academic interest.
Anywhere in UK I can buy this Skyrich charger? Unable to get it in Norway and been told they are sold out in Italia (Ducati)
And the regular V4 (non S)? Does that have a plug under the seat already to charge with an Optimate for example?
