1200 Battery Disconnect

  1. Anything i need to watch out for when i disconnect the battery to put the battery tender charging leads on? Just wary because of all the electronics the bike has!
     
  2. You shouldn't have a problem connecting the battery tender, but you will have to set everything back to mph/mpg
    (Hold headlight flasher and indicator cancel button as you turn the ignition on)
    The clock will reset as will the trip counters
    DTC will have to be turned back on aswell
     
  3. I used a bridge wire so that I could keep everything powered up when I fitted my tender as I'd heard about active suspension issues following battery disconnects.

  4. I managed to hold the cables against the terminals and avoid having to reset everything, it was fairly easy.

  6. I found that as long as the battery wasn't disconnected for more than 10 seconds or so no settings were lost.

  7. I take out my battery and store it inside every winter and have had zero issues.
